How astrology times a marriage

Vedic astrology reads marriage from the 7th house, its lord, and Venus, the karaka (natural significator) of marriage. In a woman’s chart Jupiter is read for the husband as well.

A chart promises marriage through these planets. When it happens is read from the Vimshottari dashas: the mahadasha and antardasha periods of the planets that rule it.

What a marriage window is

A window is a dasha period whose lord is one of your marriage planets. It is strongest when both the mahadasha and the antardasha lords are marriage planets, because then both levels point the same way.

This check counts the windows in the next 12 years from today and picks out the strongest. Astrologers then confirm a window with Jupiter’s and Saturn’s transits over the 7th house and its lord.

Can astrology tell the exact date of marriage?

No honest astrologer gives a single date. The dashas show the periods when marriage is supported, and transits narrow them down. Your choices and circumstances decide the rest.

Which planet is responsible for marriage?

Venus is the karaka of marriage for everyone, and Jupiter is also read for the husband in a woman’s chart. The lord of the 7th house and any planet sitting in it matter just as much.

What if there is no strong window soon?

Gentler windows still bring marriage for many people. A delay is read with the whole chart, including Saturn, the navamsa and any dosha, never from one factor.

Do I need my birth time?

It helps a great deal. The 7th house needs the lagna, and the dasha dates depend on the Moon’s exact position. Without a time, houses are counted from the Moon.
